Publication Production

     The Geophysical Institute Public Information and Education Outreach Office produces a variety of publications available to researchers, educators, the media, and the public. Publication services include regularly producing:

• The Geophysical Institute Quarterly, a newsletter containing easy-to-understand information about research at the institute. The GI Quarterly is available on-line.

• The Alaska Science Forum, a column published in newspapers and aired on radio shows throughout Alaska which interprets research for the layperson. The Alaska Science Forum is available on-line.

• The Geophysical Institute Biennial Report, a 250-page book containing technical information about specific research projects at the institute. The book also contains biographical information about institute researchers.
• Fact sheets about a variety of research for the media, for funding agencies and for educational institutions
• Understanding the Aurora (booklets)
• Aurora Borealis Bibliography
• Alaska Science Forum Bibliography
• Brochures for various programs and agencies related to the institute
• Special publications for legislators
