The Training Manager, Penelope Noecker, manages training and policy development for the Geophysical Institute staff. This includes:
On-site training seminars and workshops
Off-site training
Online training (see State
of Alaska's Online Technology Training)
Maintaining a training tape library
for employee use
Developing training policy and procedure
Managing the Staff Training Account budget
The Geophysical Institute Staff Training Account covers expenses related to training for staff employees (course costs, books, travel) not covered under contracts or grants. Staff labor costs are not covered by the Training Account. To request training support from this account, follow the instructions here and fill out a copy of the Training Request Form. (The form is "entry enabled" so you can enter your information online!) Return the form to the Training Manager in the Operations Office, room 615A.
