Middle School Project at Aurora Pond, 2003In November 2002, Ron Reihl was awarded an Incentive Grant by the Fairbanks North Star Borough School District. It allowed him to work with Sarah Drew (Ryan Middle School) and Carol Scott (Randy Smith Middle School) to take their students to Aurora Pond during spring semester 2003. Sarah and Carol took the Snow and Ice Research & Curriculum for K-12 Classrooms class in spring semester 2002 and the collaboration with Ron was an outcome of that. See Ron's PowerPoint presentation documenting his Tanana Middle School students' experience at Aurora Pond. The Middle School Project complements the Aurora Pond ALISON observatory that began operation on 18 November 2002. |
