View of McMurdo Station across Winter Quarters Bay from Hut Point. Observation Hill is on the right and, one third up the left side, is the hut that housed Scott's first Antarctic expedition. Scott would probably be horrified to see what has happened to this small area since he visited in the early 20th Century. McMurdo is not a very attractive place. Very utilitarian, it resembles a mining town.
