GI shares resources at local energy fair
Those interested in renewable energy, the Alaska environment and innovation attended the 8th Annual Renewable Energy Fair at Chena Hot Springs Resort Sunday, August 18 where both the Geophysical Institute and the Alaska Patent & Trademark Resource Center were on scene. Kaz Alvarez, Amy Hartley and Judie Triplehorn staffed two stations at the fair that drew hundreds of attendees from across the state and country.
New books for Mather Library in April 2013
Forty-six new titles were added to the Keith B. Mather Library's collection in April. Book topics range from humorous scientific essays to quantum chemistrty. Books are available for borrowing, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The library is located in the Akasofu Building, adjacent to the Elvey Building on the West Ridge of the University of Alaska Fairbanks campus.

The Keith B. Mather Library has acquired more than 20 new books in its collection. Subjects range from creating web pages to climate ethics and all books are available for check out. The Mather Library is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Stop in and see the various resources available to you through the library.

State recognizes Alaska inventors with proclamation
Governor Sean Parnell issued an executive proclamation stating Feb. 11, 2012 as Alaska Inventors Day. In celebration of the proclamation, the Alaska Inventors Alliance and the Alaska Patent & Trademark Resource Center will host a daylong event on Saturday, Feb. 11 at the Geophysical Institute where the public can learn about resources available to local inventors, tour the GI Machine and Electronics Shops and meet with Interior mayors and local inventors.

Many new items have been added to the Keith B. Mather’s collection recently. Among the new titles Geophysical Institute scientist Nicole Mölders’ book Land-Use and Land-Cover Changes: Impact on Climate and Air Quality (Atmospheric and Oceanographic Sciences Library) is now available.
