Official Workshop Hotel

The Westmark Hotel of Fairbanks, Alaska will provide the official accommodations for the Workshop. A block of rooms has been secured at a rate of US$64 per night for a Single/Double, or US$74 per night for a Jr. Suite. Rates are not inclusive of an 8% Fairbanks North Star Borough bed tax. A complimentary continental breakfast is included with the room and bus transportation to and from the official hotel will be provided. The hotel offers free Wi-Fi access points and a free shuttle to either the airport or railroad terminal. If you are renting a car, the hotel offers ample free parking.

Reservations should be made by phone directly with the Westmark (800) 544-0970. When making your reservation identify yourself as part of the Infrasound Technology Workshop or by the group name: UAF-ITW. It is also possible to make reservations directly via the web using the following in the "Group Code" text box: INFRS0906. To ensure that you receive the group rate, reservations must be made no later than 15 September 2006.

Official Workshop Car Rental

Avis/Alaska has agreed to special rental car rates for Workshop participants. Contact Avis/Alaska directly and reference the Infrasound Technology Workshop (Convention Rate Code: 00) to take advantage of these rates.

Alternatives

For those participants renting cars, there are several options for hotel stays in Fairbanks. There are also a number of very nice Bed & Breakfast options throughout the area. Late September is well on the shoulder of tourist season and rooms should not be difficult to book at reasonable rates (many offer US Government rates). Here is a partial listing of nearby hotels:
