Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at University of Alaska Fairbanks is offering an in-depth introduction to the Linux Command Line Interface (CLI) this Spring.

Have you ever wondered why anyone would want to use a command line interface? Do you find yourself frequently in need of cyber voodoo:
- to assist in processing text data, logs, research instrumentation, serial data, etc
- to remotely access system over slow or low bandwidth connections
- to deploy low power embedded Linux appliances
The class will explore:
Required supplies for this course:
A Linux, Mac or Windows laptop with a browser and wireless connection.
We'll be installing Git Bash (https://git-scm.com/downloads) or Putty (http://www.putty.org/) for use as an SSH client on Windows. Linux and Macs come with SSH and terminal software
