This course is sponsored by the Geophysical Institute at the University of Alaska Fairbanks and is offered in conjunction with the 2012 Science for Alaska Lecture Series. The course goal is to encourage discourse among educators and practicing scientists to improve science teaching and promote student interest in the sciences.

 

Coursework will build upon topics introduced in the lecture series with assignments that integrate educational standards and cutting-edge scientific research. Science for Alaska lectures can be viewed in person, online or via DVD. All course work will be submitted online. Further information for the course can be found at www.scienceforalaska.com. 

 

Assignments must be completed by Friday, May 4, 2012 to receive credit through UAF. The course can be taken for 1, 2, or 3 credits. The cost of the course is dependent on units taken: 1 credit (CRN 41511) costs $100; 2 credits (CRN 41512) cost $150; and 3 credits (CRN 41513) cost $200.
