Get your tickets for the 2012 Golden Days Rubber Duckie Race at the Geophysical Institute's Public Relations Office in Room 616. Both $5 and $10 tickets are available for cash or check. Prizes for winning ducks include $10,000, a Jacuzzi hot tub, roundtrip tickets on Condor Airlines, a wood pellet stove and more!

How does it work? The Rubber Duckie Race is a traditional event held during Golden Days in Fairbanks. On Saturday, July 21 at 2:30 p.m., 7,000 ducks will be dropped from the Wendell Street Bridge into the Chena River. The ducks will "race" downstream to the finish line at the Cushman Street Bridge. Each duck has a corresponding $10 yellow ticket and a $5 pink ticket. Unofficial race results will be posted following the race and the official results will be posted July 31 on the Greater Fairbanks Chamber of Commerce website and printed in the Fairbanks Daily News-Miner.

Tickets are on sale now through July 19. There is an incentive to buying your tickets early. Those tickets purchased by July 5 will be entered into an Early Bird Drawing for $2,000 cash.
