The Geophysical Institute at UAF invites Fairbanks community members to visit the world’s only university-owned rocket range, located in Chatanika, the heart of the Interior’s gold-mining district. 

The Rockets & Gold: Poker Flat Research Range Open House will be held in conjunction with Fairbanks’ Golden Days, on Thursday, July 19 from 4 to 8 p.m. Admission is free to the public!

Activities will include tours of the lower range, displays of model rockets, the university’s fleet of unmanned aircraft, and presentations on the range’s exciting history since opening in 1969.
