Cathy Cahill, 2012Cathy Cahill, an associate professor of atmospheric chemistry, is the new leader of the Atmospheric Sciences group at the Geophysical Institute. Her research focuses on atmospheric aerosols and their impacts on visibility, global climate and human health. Cahill's been with the University of Alaska Fairbanks since 1998. Cahill is assuming the leadership role for the group as the position was vacated when Rich Collins was appointed as the GI's new associate director.
