GI Pumpkin Carving Contest

Location: Elvey Globe Room

What:  The 2nd Annual Geophysical Institute Pumpkin Carving Contest

When:  Tuesday, October 30th

Where:  Globe Room (Elvey Building, room 215) on the University of Alaska Fairbanks campus.

Who:  Anyone can participate; there will be two categories to separate entries made by youth (ages 12 and under) and adults (13 and up).

Rules:  Please bring your carved pumpkin and pay your $5 entry fee by 11:30 a.m. on the day of the contest.

We also ask that you carve a small hole 2 inches in diameter in the base of your pumpkin for lighting purposes. 

Judging:  Judging will be done by popular vote from 12 to 2 p.m.

Winners:  Cash prizes (50/50 of collected fees) will be given to the first place winners in each of the two entry fields.
