Celebrate student research at the University of Alaska Fairbanks at the 6th annual Research Day on Tuesday, April 30, 2013. Take part in undergraduate poster sessions, tour campus labs and studios, take in the symposium and more. Activities run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. 

All UAF undergraduates are invited to present their projects on Research Day. Registration information is available here. Research posters and presentations of creative projects are welcome from every academic discipline. Posters will be displayed in Wood Center on April 30. Poster presenters are eligible to win a $100 Dean's Choice Award. The deadline to present a poster at this event is Tuesday, April 23. 

Research Day will include a symposium of spoken presentations from 2 to 4 p.m. in the Wood Center Ballroom. Symposium presentations will be judged and prizes will be awarded by the Vice Chancellor for Research. First prize is $1,000, second prize is $750 and third prize is $500. Ten undergraduates were selected to present at the symposium. 

Due to space constraints, graduate and postdoctoral candidates' posters cannot be accommodated at this event. Instead, organizers encourage those researchers and scholars to present their work at the Job & Research Fair to be held September 11-12, 2013. 

Research Day is sponsored by the Vice Chancellor for Research, Undergraduate Research & Scholarly Activity and the Honors Program.
