Fourteen GeeWiz team members, representing the Geophysical Institute, showed their support for the American Heart Association by raising more than $12,200 and participating in the 2013 Heart Walk in Fairbanks. 

The GeeWiz team raised the most money among the UAF teams and was the second-best at fundraising among all teams in the city. 

The condensed 1-mile walk took place on Saturday, May 18, despite freezing temperatures.
