Seismic Imaging of Structure and Source conference July 14-17

CIG-QUEST-IRIS conference in FAIMore than 80 participants have converged at the Geophysical Institute at the University of Alaska Fairbanks for a conference dedicated to seismic imaging. Participants will take in a number of presentations, conduct a poster session, tour the Alaska Earthquake Information Center and create simulations in the Arctic Region Supercomputing Center and more as part of the three-day conference. Participants include scientists from the United States and abroad.

 

 

The Seismic Imaging of Structure and Source conference has been in the works for about a year. The Fairbanks-based coordinator for the event is assistant professor of seismology Carl Tape of the GI, with help from others affiliated with Computational Infrastructure for Geodynamics, Quantitative Estimation of Earth's Seismic Sources and Structure, and Incorporated Research Institutions for Seismology.
