GI program at Native American education forum
UNITE US Facilitators doreen [dot] hayward [at] gi [dot] alaska [dot] edu (Doreen Hayward) and Barbara Wadlinger are in Santa Ana Pueblo, New Mexico taking part in the Tribal Lands and Environment Forum that runs until August 22. The national forum is focused on environmental education and outreach to Native American students. The forum also works to assist schools and improve environmental science literacy.
The numerous UNITE US resources are being distributed at the multi-day forum. UNITE US is a Geophysical Institute-created math and science curriculum that interweaves Alaska Native and Western perspectives focused on the topic of Arctic climate.
