International Libraries Honored for their Contributions

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

International Special Libraries Day was commemorated today with a celebration sponsored by the University of Alaska Fairbanks Geophysical Institute and International Arctic Research Center’s Keith B. Mather Library in cooperation with the Alaska Library Association Northern Chapter. Select international members of the University of Alaska Fairbanks research staff nominated award winners based on libraries that provided significant contributions and assistance to their careers.

Awards were presented to twenty libraries around the world, honoring contributions each has made to scientists, students, teaching faculty, researchers, and the entire international scientific community. Libraries acknowledged in the ceremony received a certificate of recognition and an Alaskan aurora photograph. A list of award winners is attached.
