Participate in the 2011 "Around the World" GeoCare Silent Auction

CHOOSE A DESTINATION, SEVERAL OR PERHAPS A SIMPLE TRAVELERS THEME.
HAVE ANOTHER IDEA OUTSIDE THE THEME, GO AHEAD, YOUR DONATION IS UP TO YOU!

Baskets and donation items will be on display and sold during a silent auction fundraiser on Friday, September 9th from 11:30 am - 2:00 pm in the Elvey Globe Room.

PREPARING YOUR DONATION:

• Each basket /donation will require a detailed list of its contents and a copy of all receipts or an estimated value of each item if receipts are not available. This is required for tax purposes.

• The information provided will help establish a minimum bid and donations will be on display at the silent auction.

• To ensure that all contents donated are accounted for, we recommend wrapping baskets in clear cellophane.

• No alcohol can be included in your auction donation. Gift certificates can be substituted.

• Keep it simple, this is a fundraiser, you do not need to spend hundreds to create a desired basket/item. Often the simplest items get the most attention. Have fun!

DONATIONS MUST BE SUBMITTED TO THE GI DIRECTOR'S OFFICE IN ELVEY ROOM 601 BY THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 8TH AT 12:00PM.

HOW THE SILENT AUCTION WORKS:

1. Each donation will have its own bidding sheet.
2. A minimum bid will be set for each donation.
3. If an item interests you, make a bid! But remember to check back! Someone might outbid you at the last minute!

BIDDING WILL CLOSE PRECISELY AT 2 P.M. WINNERS WILL BE CONTACTED LATER THAT AFTERNOON, AND WILL BE NOTIFIED THAT THEIR ITEM IS READY FOR PICK-UP. PAYMENT MUST BE MADE WITH CASH OR CHECK PAYABLE TO GEOCARE.

ALL PROCEEDS GO TOWARD THE GEOCARE EMPLOYEE ASSISTANCE ENDOWMENT. THE GEOCARE EMPLOYEE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM PROVIDES FUNDS FOR GEOPHYSICAL INSTITUTE AND INTERNATIONAL ARCTIC RESEARCH CENTER EMPLOYEES DURING TIMES OF TRAGEDY, OR UNFORESEEN INCIDENTS THAT ARE NOT COVERED BY INSURANCE.
