Investigations in Cyber-enabled Education, or ICE, is accepting applications for its fall 2011 Snow Cover course for educators. The science professional development course for teachers features a collaborative online network for teaching and learning about the role of snow in global climate. Participants interact with a suite of online lessons and are given access to snow-related data and resources appropriate for classroom use.

 

Space is limited, so applications are accepted on a first-come first-served basis. Other perks to the fall 2011 Snow Cover course for educators are:

 

- The opportunity to earn up to three ED593 continuing education credits from UAF.

 

- $800 stipend upon completion of the course.

 

- Course-related technical support.

 

The course is divided into six units of online instruction related to snow and global climate. The course will run through December 2011.
