Kaz Alvarez of the Geophysical Institute’s Outreach Office has been awarded the Exceptional Student Employee Award for Fall 2011. The honor is presented by the University of Alaska Fairbanks Career Services Office. Award recipients, nominated by supervisors and coworkers, are given a $25 gift certificate to the UAF Bookstore, an engraved plaque, and are invited to a luncheon with Chancellor Brian Rogers and Sherry Modrow. 

Alvarez was nominated for the award by several supervisors and coworkers in the GI Outreach Office. Amy Hartley, Alvarez’s supervisor, presented the award certificate at the GI Director’s Coffee Circle on Friday, Nov. 18.
