The effects of a solar flare that occurred on the 24th should arrive
early on the 27th GMT. This is not a large event, but it may combine
with the fast solar wind to produce an aurora on the night of the 26th
over the US/Canadian border that should be visible to observers in the
northern states. Go out at midnight and watch the northern horizon.
