NASDUG members,
We have a NASDUG meeting scheduled for this Thursday July 22
at 4:00 in the UAF Geophysical Institute Globe Room; see below
for logistics details.

Our Alaska ESRI representative, Terri Morganson, has arranged
for a presentation and demo by one of ESRI-Olympia's technical
folks, Ryan Dalton, of the new data interoperability extension
to ArcGIS.
We know a fair number of you are out of town or in the field,
but this opportunity for a presentation from ESRI came up, and
we thought the local user community would benefit. We hope to
have ESRI back in the fall for an ArcGIS 9 rollout
presentation, as well.
Speakers: Ryan Dalton, ESRI-Olympia; Terri Morganson, ESRI-Alaska
Title: An overview and demonstration of ESRI's newest
extension: The ArcGIS Data Interoperability Extension
Description: The ArcGIS Data Interoperability Extension
eliminates barriers for data sharing by providing
state-of-the-art direct data access, data transformation, and
export capabilities. This extension enables ArcGIS Desktop
users to easily use and distribute data in many formats.
Information is available at:

The meeting will be held in the UAF Geophysical Institute's
Globe room. This room is straight behind the front (south)
entrance to the Elvey Building. The Elvey Building in on the
west end of campus and easily identified by the 10-meter
satellite dish on its roof. I've arranged for parking
ticketing to be suspended for the meeting, so you may park in
any of the "UAF decal" spaces in front of or behind the Elvey
building. Please avoid using other visitor and reserved
spaces. Most students will have left campus, so finding an
unoccupied space should not be a problem. Here's a map:
