NASDUG,

ESRI is starting an ArcGIS Server Special Interest Group. I
don't generally post Anchorage events, but there are a lot
knobs to turn on this product and not a huge local
user community, so a SIG hooking up with your Anchorage
colleagues might be of benefit.

Posted at the request of ESRI's Terri Morganson. Please
contact Terri directly with any questions:

Regards,
Tom

GIS User Group Announcement:

Introducing a new Special Interest Group (SIG) of the Alaska
Arc User Group: The focus of this SIG will be ArcGIS Server -
administration and development using this technology. This
SIG will be of interest to all those who are already using
ArcGIS Server, for those who plan to implement, and for those
who would like to learn more about server-based GIS from other
users. The intent is to bring users together who can share
their experiences and learn from each other. Open to
everyone!

Our first meeting will be hosted by the staff at Alaska Dept.
of Fish & Game on Thursday November 1, from 12 -1 (brown bag
lunch).

Agenda:

1. Round table introductions

 	- What are you are doing now with server-based GIS or what do
 	you hope/plan to do

 	- What technology are you using (product, level, platform, etc)

 	- How are you developing (internal development vs. 3-party)

2. View sample sights people may already have

3. Group discussion of tasks people want, have, or are
working on, etc.

4. Discussion of how we can go about sharing tasks
and/or tips and tricks, etc.

5. And of course, make a plan for our next meeting and
set up format for future meetings (frequency, time, format,
etc)

We will meet in the Aerie Conference room in the Fish & Game
building at 333 Raspberry Rd. in Anchorage. The Aerie
conference room is upstairs, off the main atrium. Go up the
stairs, take a left, left at the next hall (past bathrooms),
down about half way (past bathroom/sink nook).

Becky Strauch (rebecca.strauch at alaska.gov ) will be our host
and would like you to send her your URLs for your test sites
(if your web page is publicly accessible). She will set up
the meeting with links to your sites.

Thanks, well see you there!
