Biographical Sketch:

 Dr. Ng joined the Geophysical Institute and the Physics Department of the University of Alaska Fairbanks in 2008. His main areas of research are theoretical and computational plasma physics, with applications in space and fusion plasmas. He has worked on a wide range of problems in these areas, including MHD turbulence, heating of the solar corona and solar wind, magnetic reconnection, Landau damping and BGK modes, field-line resonances in ionosphere/magnetosphere, void formation in dusty plasmas, hydrodynamic singularities, free-electron laser, mode conversion in fusion plasmas, and radiation in classical electrodynamics.
