Cindy Williams Cindy Williams - Senior Research Associate - Her current and recent research projects include:

  • Remote Sensing of Terrestrial Ecosystems, including the Global Boreal Mapping Project (JERS-1 SAR); studies of forest succession, wetland classification, landscape scale biomass mapping/modeling (AIRSAR); forest and wetland classification, use in forest ecosystem studies (ERS-1 SAR); and land cover and its uses in environmental education (Thematic Mapper);
  • Vegetation Dynamics, including vegetation trajectories after wildfire, wetlands of the Tanana River Floodplain and Tanana Flats, and floodplain succession in Interior Alaska.
  • Environmental and science education of children and adults, including research-based education outreach, the Alaskan Landscapes project, CTY programs, and a Natural Resource Conservation Education curriculum program.
