McCall Glacier, Alaska, as an Indicator of Climate Change in the Arctic

McCall Glacier is one of the most northerly glaciers in Alaska, and one that was subject to intensive studies during IGY in 1957 and during the early 1970s. The present program seeks to compare the present geometry of this glacier with that observed during these early studies. Measurements include surface elevation and velocity, mass balance, terminus position and local meteorological variables. Changes in volume will be interpreted in terms of climatic change in arctic Alaska.
