Fur Rendezvous Medal

Fur Rendezvous Medal

This is an unusual medal that was minted in 1972 to commemorate the 37th annual Anchorage Fur Rendezvous. It was for a particular event, the Cross Country Snowmobile Race. The coin is about the size of a Silver Dollar and is made of Copper. There are traces of GOLD plating that suggest that the coin was originally GOLD plated.
