This is a brooch made entirely of GOLD! It is a handmade piece made by a goldsmith. It has what seems to be a double star of david on the back and that is the only identifying mark as to the artis's identity. I call it a brooch because I don't know really what to call it. It does have a pin on the back so it is intended to be pinned onto a garment. I found this piece in a very unlikely place when I wasn't even looking for treasure. I had just bought a piece of property and was searching for the survey markers in a survey cut through the woods. My detector went off and I couldn't believe what I found when I cleared the brush and dug a little. Must have been lost by one of those surveyors or by the owners of the original property before it was subdivided. Goes to show you that you never know where you will find GOLD!
