My students

Manatchanok Tantiphiphatthana, Ph.D. graduate student, since fall 2011. Email: manatchanok "at" gi.alaska.edu Manatchanok graduated from AIT in Thailand with a MS in environmental engineering and management. At UAF, she works in the NASA project entitled "Quantifying Fuel Impacts on Wildfire Behavior and Emissions by Coupling Small Unmanned Aircraft In-situ Measurements with Satellite Observations". She performs WRF/Chem simulations and evaluates them by means of satellite data and meteorological and chemical data from dropsondes released by the unmanned aircrafts.
Rathawat Daengngern, Ph.D. graduate student, since fall 2011. Email: Rathawat "at" gi.alaska.edu Rathawat Daengngern was born in Thailand. He graduated with a MS in Chemistry from Chiang Mai University, Chiang Mai and has a BS in Computational Science from Walailak University, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Thailand. He compiles emission data and performs simulations with WRF/Chem to examine the impact of cruiseship emissions and their changes due to altered cruise speed or fuel on visibility and air quality over Glacier Bay.
Evelyn Jackson, undergraduate student, since spring 2011. Email: ejackson5 "at" alaska.edu She develops software and analyzes WRF/Chem simulations within the framework of emission control scenarios.
Ketsiri Leelasakultum, Ph.D. graduate student, since fall 2010. Email: ketsiri "at" gi.alaska.edu Ketsiri studied environmental sciences in Thailand and graduated with a MS from the Asian Institute of Technology. At UAF, she examines the impact of the use of fuel with reduced sulfur content on the PM2.5 concentrations in Fairbanks and Alaska.
Trang Thu Tran, Ph.D. graduate student since spring 2009. Email: trang "at" gi.alaska.edu Trang Thu Tran studied environmental sciences in Thailand and graduated with a MS from the Asian Institute of Technology. Trang performs investigations on the impact of emissions from wildfires, ship traffic and Alaska antropogenic sources and of long-range transport of pollutants on air quality and deposition of atmospheric contaminants into Alaska coastal regions.
Huy Ngujan Quang Tran, Ph.D. graduate student since spring 2009, email: huy.tran "at" gi.alaska.edu. Huy performs investigations on Fairbanks' PM2.5 air quality problem. Huy stems from Vietnam. He obtained his MS in atmospheric sciences for photochemical smog modeling with MM5/CMAQ for ozone air quality management in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
Theodor Fathauer, MS graduate student since 2005, relation between pollen and previous year's climate, email: theodore.fathauer "at" gi.alaska.edu
