The Alaska Climate Research Center's primary mission is to respond to inquiries from around the world about the meteorology and climatology of Alaska. The center archives digital climate records, develops climate statistics, and writes monthly weather summaries for publication in several newspapers around Alaska and in Weatherwise magazine. If the request is for a small amount of data, our services are provided free of charge. We also conduct research on a number of high latitude meteorological and climatological topics and provide useful links for related data.

The Alaska Climate Research Center was established by Alaska statute and is funded by the State of Alaska. The center is part of the Geophysical Institute at the University of Alaska Fairbanks.
