First Friday event at West Ridge well-received

Art, culture, literature and music were on the bill for the First Friday event last week in the main hall of the Akasofu Building. The turnout was excellent, with attendees coming from other offices on campus as well as the greater Fairbanks community.

Participants included JR Ancheta, Alice Bailey, Kyra Bornong, Cierra Childs, Holly Dean, LJ Evans, Klara Maisch, Nicole Mölders, Chip Morris, Carolyn Parcheta, Tobey-Jean Priest, Ned Rozell, John Smelter, Rawser Spicer, Matthew Sturm, Ken Tape, Maggie Harings and Matt Vonlintig. North Star Strings performed in the Akasofu lobby.

Particular kudos are due Tohru Saito of the International Arctic Research Center for organizing the event. ACUASI also kept their doors open and invited visitors in to learn about their program.
